Job summary

Pink Tile Education Ltd is seeking a Patient, caring and reliable Student Support Assistant to join a SEND school in Bromley. The role involves working closely with students, teachers and the school team to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

You will help students feel confident, supported and engaged in their education, while encouraging independence and achievement of individual goals. This is a full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday role with term-time scheduling.

Student Support Assistant

Location: Bromley, South London

Salary: £100–£120 per day

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Student Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in Bromley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will play an important role in supporting students’ academic, social, emotional and personal development.

The Role

As a Student Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

You will help students feel confident, supported and engaged in their education, while encouraging them to develop their independence and achieve their individual goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students

• Supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs

• Helping students engage with lessons and classroom activities

• Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and resilience

• Supporting students with their social and emotional development

• Helping students manage emotions and overcome barriers to learning

• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging appropriate choices

• Building positive, trusting relationships with students

• Supporting students during lessons, break times and lunchtimes where required

• Working alongside teachers to support individual learning and development plans

• Helping students develop their communication and social skills

• Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement

• Monitoring student engagement and providing feedback to the wider school team

• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

About You

We are looking for a patient, caring and reliable Student Support Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people

• Patient, empathetic and understanding

• Confident working with students on a 1:1 and small-group basis

• Able to build strong and positive relationships with students

• Calm and consistent when supporting students who may display challenging behaviour

• A confident communicator who can adapt their approach to individual needs

• Resilient and able to remain professional in challenging situations

• Reliable and committed to working as part of a team

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Student Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or similar is desirable but not essential

Pay & Holiday Pay
