The Medical University of Innsbruck is seeking a University Assistant (Praedoc) for a position in cancer survivorship projects. externally funded, with immediate effect, limited to 3 years

Your area of responsibility

Our group is interested in cancer survivorship projects implementing novel web-based tools to guide life‑style behavior and surveillance programs of children and young adults surviving cancer supported by the Austrian Comprehensive Cancer Center (ACCN). Our study will also implement a structured biobanking of cancer survivor blood samples to systematically fingerprint genetic (CHIP) and chronic inflammation as a result of previous cancer therapies to finally link long‑term sequela of these therapies to secondary outcomes.

Your tasks include

  • Systematic collection of clinical data.
  • Software tool development and biobanking including many multi‑omic technologies (RNASeq, multiplex cytokine quantification, multiparametric flow cytometry techniques etc.).
  • Data management, preparation and processing
  • Presentation of the results to scientific and non‑scientific audiences
  • Data analysis and publication of the study results

  • Previous experience with the basics of the following techniques would be appreciated: Molecular biology including sequencing technologies, quantitative PCR, immunological methods (FACS, ELISA, bioplex) and cell culture.
