The Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research at the University of Vienna aims to understand biological diversity across all relevant ecological and evolutionary dimensions. By combining expertise from a wide range of biological disciplines, including ecology, morphology, and evolutionary biology, and by studying plants, fungi, and animals, research and teaching at the Department are strongly interdisciplinary. This work is carried out by our diverse and supportive team of academic and non-academic staff. We are looking for a motivated and committed staff member to strengthen our team.
The advertised position is based in the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research at the University of Vienna, within the Evolutionary Plant Cytogenetics research group (cytogenetics.univie.ac.at), headed by Prof. Dr. Hanna Schneeweiss and located at Rennweg 14, 1030 Vienna.
We are an international team of students and postdocs working on the processes and patterns of genome evolution in plants at different levels of genome organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical management of our cytogenetics and genome size measurement laboratory, contribute to FWF-funded and other research projects, and support regular teaching activities.
