Job description

At Peak Technology, we develop and produce high-performance solutions for motorsport and aerospace. Our products power Formula 1 cars, launch rockets into space, accompany satellites in orbit, and win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. What drives us? The next tenth of a second, the next orbit. If you’re ready to push boundaries, join our team.

YOUR TASKS

You will analyse complex composite structures and pressure vessels for demanding space applications. Using state of the art simulation methods and in depth knowledge of material behaviour, you will assess the structural integrity and safety of our components, from numerical analysis to validation against experimental data.

  • Set up and perform finite element simulations of CFRP pressure vessels and spaceflight structures, with a particular focus on Type 3 Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) with an aluminium liner
  • Apply advanced structural mechanics and fracture mechanics principles to assess structural performance, safety and damage tolerance
  • Analyse the material behaviour and potential failure mechanisms of composite materials and metals under static and cyclic loading
  • Compare numerical and analytical results with experimental data, and calibrate and validate simulation models accordingly
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate test campaigns for material characterisation and model validation
  • Prepare clear, traceable and technically sound analysis reports for internal use and customer delivery
  • Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing and testing departments
  • Present analysis results and provide technical support during customer meetings, design reviews and technical discussions
  • Develop tools for data processing and analysis workflow automation, for example using Python
YOUR PROFILE
  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, applied physics or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in structural analysis, preferably within the aerospace industry
  • In depth knowledge of composite materials, particularly their behaviour and failure mechanisms under load
  • Strong proficiency in finite element analysis, ideally using Abaqus, Nastran, Ansys and/or HyperMesh
  • Knowledge of nonlinear material behaviour of metals under static and cyclic loading
  • Solid foundation in fracture mechanics, including related modelling approaches and failure analysis
  • Experience in planning and overseeing test campaigns for material characterisation, model calibration and validation
  • Programming skills, preferably in Python, for automating data evaluation and analysis workflows
  • Structured, analytical and independent working style, combined with a strong commitment to quality
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes
  • Experience working with pressure vessels, launch vehicles, or spacecraft structures is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and spoken English
WE OFFER
  • A versatile role in a successfully growing company
  • Technical innovation and challenges in the motorsport, aviation, and aerospace industries
  • Training programs to promote professional and personal development
  • A collegial work atmosphere with a first-name culture in a company that values teamwork
  • Meals provided by the company kitchen with freshly prepared dishes daily
  • Various company events
  • Further benefits such as: Company mobile phone, company bicycle, climate ticket, corporate benefits, ...

The actual salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, educational or academic degree, and relevant professional experience. The stated salary range is intended as a guideline and may be adjusted depending on the individual candidate’s profile.
