Eligo Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Site Manager to run a high-profile data centre project on a nine-month fixed-term basis in Linz. The role involves hands-on management, keeping the schedule honest, coordinating deliveries and stock, and coordinating change notices while staying close to the work on site.

You will manage documentation, deliver toolbox talks, assess risks, and report progress to project managers. Travel to client sites across mainland Europe is required.

Qualifikationen

• Typically 5+ years of data centre project experience.
• Knowledge of copper cabling: Cat5e/6/6a.
• Knowledge of fibre: OM3/OM4/OM5, OS1/OS2.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and Visio.
• Strong written and verbal communication; bridge between site and office.
• Willing to be based in Linz for the duration and travel across Europe.

What actually keeps a data centre fit-out on programme?

Not the schedule on the wall. It is the person on site who notices the cable drums have not arrived, that two trades are about to want the same riser, and that the toolbox talk this morning needs to cover something different from the one yesterday.

Our client is looking for a Site Manager to do exactly that on a high-profile data centre project, on a nine-month fixed-term basis. They are a European digital infrastructure and network services group whose Data Centre Services division delivers structured cabling and passive infrastructure on major projects across mainland Europe, and this role puts you on site in Linz with travel to client sites elsewhere in Europe.

It is a hands-on management job rather than a desk one. You would be running the documentation and the tracking, keeping the schedule honest, managing deliveries and stock, and controlling change notices as they come in, while being close enough to the work to pick up a tool when the situation calls for it.

What the role involves

• Managing project documentation so the work is properly tracked
• Delivering toolbox talks to the engineers on site
• Assessing site risks and putting controls in place to reduce them

What you need

• A solid track record on data centre projects, typically built over five years or more
• Working knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a copper cabling solutions
• Working knowledge of OM3, OM4, OM5, OS1 and OS2 fibre solutions
• Confident with Excel, Word and Visio
• Strong written and verbal communication, since you are the bridge between site and office
• Comfortable working to fixed programme dates on sites where conditions change day to day
• Able to be based in Linz for the duration and to travel to client sites across mainland Europe
