Job summary

Keet is seeking a Product Engineering Lead in Austria to drive the API and frontend teams for a global peer-to-peer messaging product. You will shape technical direction, partner with Product, and own delivery of high‑quality features at scale.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, and make hands‑on decisions when needed while balancing strategic leadership with team empowerment in a fast‑moving, autonomous environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software engineers delivering consumer-facing products.
• Strong product sense to distinguish high-value opportunities from unnecessary complexity.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and React for frontend decisions.
• Understanding of distributed/local-first systems and offline-first concepts.
• Ability to collaborate with product leaders and contribute to strategy.
• Strong technical leadership with standards, architecture, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead API and frontend engineering teams to maintain momentum.
• Set engineering standards for performance, reliability, maintainability, and clean API design.
• Own technical design of features and API boundaries between core and frontend.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate roadmaps into initiatives.
• Mentor engineering leads and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Contribute technically when needed while enabling team ownership.
