Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Responsible for a project or portfolio of projects (regional / sectoral)
  • Responsible for all aspects of planning, as defined by the Planning SOP
  • Reporting to Planning Department
  • Reporting to Business Unit / Project Management
  • Developing and maintaining schedules for pre‑construction / construction / commissioning
  • Developing and maintaining progress databases
  • Progress reporting
  • Milestone projections, delay / float path analysis
  • Earned Value Management systems
  • Monitoring schedule performance and productivity
  • Auditing progress on site
  • Attending schedule meetings, liaising with client and subcontractors
  • Preparation of tender schedules
  • Preparation of histograms
  • Leading planning meetings
  • Supporting weekly workface planning systems
  • Resource / cash loading of schedules
  • Providing data for payment applications
  • Completing contract review reports
  • Responsibility for quality and accuracy of schedules and reports
  • Making relevant parties aware of issues and advising on solutions
  • Recording delay and disruption
  • Assisting in the preparation of claims and providing data for contractual disputes
  • Managing, training, coaching, supporting, developing, leading staff, if required
  • Covering Planning Manager responsibilities when required
  • Covering Project Planner responsibilities when required
  • All other duties associated with role
Essential Criteria For The Role
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in planning on large‑scale construction projects
  • Be proficient using Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, Excel
  • Clear understanding of construction methodologies and sequence
  • Able to produce programme to plan and monitor the works from necessary information (drawings/model/SOW etc.)
  • Capable of managing the planning of large‑scale projects with minimum supervision
  • Be highly motivated, a self‑starter & able to work well in a team on or your own
  • Clear communicator
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines
