Silicon Austria Labs in Austria is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to advance cross-platform microfabrication processes within the Microsystems Division. You will bridge research units and pilot-line operations, driving development, documentation, and scalable fabrication workflows.

You will collaborate with scientists and cleanroom engineers to translate new concepts into manufacturable processes, ensuring tool compatibility and process integrity across platforms.

Qualifikationen

• MSc/PhD in microelectronics, microsystems, semiconductors, physics or a related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in semiconductor, MEMS, photonics or microfabrication technology.
• Demonstrated expertise in fabrication process development and integration; ability to execute and troubleshoot processes.
• Broad understanding of multiple microfabrication modules and their interactions.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills (German is a plus).

Aufgaben

• Hands-on execution of microfabrication processes across lithography, deposition, etching, cleaning, metrology and other modules.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot and optimize complex microfabrication process flows with cross-tool interactions.
• Execute and lead fabrication runs, analyze results and identify root causes across pilot-lines and external activities.
• Assessing technology and pilot-line maturity.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate research concepts into fabricable process flows.
• Coordinate with cleanroom tool owners to ensure compatibility with equipment and constraints.
• Define and maintain process documentation, flow diagrams, specifications, run sheets, recipes, and change logs.
• Promote standardized ways of working for development, integration, documentation, qualification and scale-up.
• Platform specialization across Microsystems technology platforms.
