Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) in Villach is seeking a skilled professional to join the Pilot Line Operations team. You will execute microfabrication processes across lithography, deposition, etching, cleaning, metrology and related modules, translating research concepts into fabricable flows.

You will lead fabrication runs, troubleshoot complex processes, and collaborate with scientists and tool owners to ensure smooth operations and rigorous documentation.

Qualifikationen

• MSc/PhD in microelectronics, microsystems, semiconductors, physics or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in semiconductor, MEMS, photonics or microfabrication technology, preferably in a cleanroom industrial environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in fabrication process development and integration, with the ability to execute and troubleshoot processes.
• Broad understanding of multiple microfabrication modules and their interactions, rather than expertise limited to a single process step.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to move between hands-on cleanroom work, process engineering, documentation and coordination.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills for technical reporting and professional documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively while supporting multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, reporting, and organizational skills.English; German a plus.

Aufgaben

• Hands-on execution of microfabrication processes across lithography, deposition, etching, cleaning, metrology and other modules.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot and optimize complex microfabrication process flows across tools and modules.
• Execute and lead fabrication runs, analyze results, identify issues and determine root causes for pilot-line runs and external fabrication.
• Assess technology and pilot-line maturity.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate research concepts into fabricable process flows.
• Coordinate with cleanroom tool owners to ensure compatibility with capabilities and constraints.
• Define and maintain process documentation, flow diagrams, run sheets, recipes and change logs.
• Help establish standardized workflows for process development, integration, documentation and scale-up.
• Platform specialization while working across multiple projects (Quantum, Photonics, PiezoMEMS, Magnetic Microsystems).
