Zusammenfassung

Sportradar is seeking a Senior FinOps Engineer to strengthen visibility, governance and optimisation of our cloud spend. You will anchor cost management across teams and translate cloud usage into actionable insights for engineering and finance.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering and finance, requiring hands-on AWS knowledge, tagging governance, and cost allocation to drive measurable efficiency in a multi-million-euro cloud estate.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or similar cloud/technology finance role.
• Solid understanding of public cloud architecture (preferably AWS) and how design decisions affect cost.
• Hands-on experience with cloud cost management, including tagging governance, allocation, and commitment/discount instruments (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans).
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex usage and billing data, spot patterns and anomalies, and recommend actions.
• Experience with FinOps or BI tooling; scripting (e.g., Python) for reporting and automation is a plus.
• Ability to communicate cost insights effectively to technical and financial stakeholders and drive accountability across teams.

Aufgaben

• Own cloud cost visibility end to end — tagging, allocation, and showback to attribute spend to teams, products, and services.
• Drive rate optimisation across the estate: commitments, RI, Savings Plans, balancing coverage and flexibility.
• Build and maintain FinOps reporting, dashboards, and tooling from cloud billing data for engineering, finance, and leadership.
• Improve forecasting accuracy and support budgeting with finance partners.
• Identify workload optimisations and waste reduction through rightsizing, scheduling, and architectural opportunities.
• Define and track cloud efficiency KPIs and embed cost-aware engineering into design and delivery.
• Investigate cost anomalies and act as the go-to expert for cloud cost questions.
