Job summary

MADx – Macro Array Diagnostics GmbH is seeking a Sr Controller with a focus on cost accounting to bring transparency on costs and profitability, owning the Record-to-Report process. The role offers full ownership from day one in a fast-growing diagnostics company.

Based in Vienna, you will lead product costing, cost centre structure, and costing methodology, while partnering with Operations and management to drive efficiency and portfolio profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration, industrial engineering or similar.
• At least 5 years in cost or production controlling in manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting, product costing and overhead allocation skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience; knowledge of VENA a plus.
• R2R process improvement, automation experience is advantageous.
• Analytical mindset and partnership with Operations and management.
• Excellent German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Own product costing for the product portfolio, BOMs, overhead allocations.
• Maintain cost center structure and costing methodology in alignment with reporting.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to drive improvements.
• Provide profitability insights by product, customer and country.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, investments and make-or-buy decisions.
• Own international R2R process ownership, lean and automated end-to-end.

To strengthen our Finance team, we are looking for a Sr Controller with a focus on cost accounting who will create transparency on our costs and profitability and take ownership of our Record-to-Report process.

What You'll Do

Cost Controlling

• Own product costing for our product portfolio, including bills of materials, overhead allocation and cost rates
• Maintain and continuously improve our cost centre structure and costing methodology, including alignment with financial reporting
• Analyse manufacturing costs and variances in order to develop recommendations for improvement
• Provide insights to management on product, customer and country profitability to facilitate portfolio management
• Over time, contribute to budgeting, forecasting, investment and make-or-buy decisions

Business Process Ownership

• Act as international business process owner for Record-to-Report (controlling, accounting, closing, reporting), implementing a lean, highly automated process end-to-end
• Steer workflows, responsibilities and interfaces
• Drive efficiency across R2R, from quick wins to sustainable process improvements

What You Bring

• A degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable field
• At least 5 years of experience in cost or production controlling in a manufacturing environment
• A strong command of cost accounting, product costing and overhead allocation as well as a solid understanding of production processes
• Advanced Excel and ERP skills (ideally BMD or Business Central); experience with planning tools such as VENA is a strong plus
• Experience in R2R process improvement, process automation or ERP projects is a strong advantage
• An analytical mindset and the ability to act as a trusted partner for Operations and management
• Very good German and English skills

Compensation

For this position, we offer a market-competitive annual gross salary starting at EUR 51,557.00 based on full-time employment, which is above the applicable collective agreement minimum salary. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
