Camunda, a leading enterprise platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Core/API & Process Automation team. You will work on Camunda 8's event-sourced engine, ensuring performance, correctness, and safe public API evolution.

You will mentor teammates, drive design ADRs, and ship features enabling AI agents to integrate with the engine, while upholding high quality and reliability across distributed systems.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years professional backend engineering in distributed/event-driven systems.
• Strong API design, backward-compatible changes, and versioning.
• Ability to lead ambiguity and drive pragmatic decisions.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and evolve the event-sourced engine and APIs.
• Lead hard, ambiguous problems end-to-end and ADRs.
• Ship high-impact engine features with strong quality control.
• Ensure resiliency, schema evolution, and observability.
• Optimize data access patterns across RocksDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and Postgres.
• Mentor the team, lead incidents, and drive systemic improvements.
