Kontron Transportation seeks an experienced Senior Android Developer to architect, build, and maintain next-generation mission critical mobile apps in Vienna. You’ll work on rugged hardware, optimize for low latency, and ensure secure, reliable communications in high-stakes environments.

The role requires 5+ years of Android development, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose expertise, and familiarity with MCX/3GPP standards.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Telecommunications, CS, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years Android development experience with production apps.
• Strong knowledge of networking and real-time media streaming.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance native Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, tailored for ruggedized hardware.
• Architect and implement low-latency real-time audio/video streaming and communication protocols (SIP, RTP, WebRTC, MCX).
• Optimize background and foreground services for continuous connectivity and fast call setup times.
• Implement end-to-end encryption and security hardening for public safety standards.
• Establish rigorous testing including unit, integration, and stress tests for network conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams following agile processes to keep release cycles predictable and code quality high.
• Ensure reliability on devices with constrained hardware and resources.
