Kontron Transportation in Vienna seeks an experienced Senior Android Developer to architect, build, and maintain mission-critical mobile apps for rugged devices. You’ll join the Mobile App Development team, delivering low-latency, secure communications for public-safety grade networks.

You’ll design native Android apps with Kotlin, optimize performance, and collaborate in an agile environment using Jira and Confluence, with flexible hours and a modern Vienna office.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience with production deployments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/UDP, WebSockets, IP networking, QoS and real-time media streaming.
• Experience managing device power, memory, and performance under constrained hardware.
• Proven testing culture with unit/UI tests and code reviews.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence in agile teams.
• Nice to have MCX/LMR and MDM exposure.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance native Android apps using Kotlin for rugged handheld devices.
• Architect and implement low-latency streaming and communication protocols (SIP, RTP, WebRTC, MCX).
• Optimize background/foreground services for continuous connectivity and fast call setup.
• Implement data security practices, including end-to-end encryption and compliance hardening.
• Establish rigorous testing standards with automated tests for varying network conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads following agile processes to maintain release quality.
