Job summary

HCL Technologies is hiring for a Senior Technical Specialist - AI, Java & ML in Austria. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building and delivering scalable AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments.

You will work with architects, data specialists and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into secure, production-ready Java and AI-enabled applications, leveraging cloud platforms and modern MLOps practices.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in software engineering with strong Java expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Practical experience with ML/AI, Python and ML libraries alongside Java.
• Experience in production deployment and MLOps concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-grade applications and services using Java, Spring Boot and modern software engineering practices.
• Architect and implement AI and Machine Learning solutions from experimentation to production deployment.
• Integrate Generative AI and Large Language Models into enterprise applications and workflows.
• Develop APIs and microservices enabling AI/ML capabilities for other applications.
• Work with RAG, embeddings, vector search and prompt engineering where appropriate.
• Handle structured and unstructured data to develop, train and optimise ML models.
• Implement robust MLOps covering model deployment, monitoring, versioning and lifecycle management.
• Design scalable solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Ensure security, performance, scalability and responsible AI in solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guide developers while delivering solutions.
