Zusammenfassung

WU Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria seeks a part-time researcher to join the Health Economics and Policy Group. The role combines research design, data analysis and teaching while pursuing doctoral studies.

You will contribute to research projects, present at internal workshops, supervise theses, and write your dissertation over a six-year period. The position offers a competitive salary and a vibrant campus life in Vienna.

Qualifikationen

  • Academic degree: diploma/master's in economics/health economics or related social science.
  • Quantitative skills: strong background in quantitative methods; proficient in Stata or R.
  • Research experience: prior experience conducting quantitative research.
  • Qualitative methods: not required but asset.
  • Languages: excellent command of English; German optional.
  • Willingness to use multimedia teaching formats.

Aufgaben

  • Institute Life: contribute to the Health Economics and Policy Group and participate in meetings and workshops.
  • Research: collaborate on research projects, contribute to design, data collection and publications.
  • Writing a dissertation: spend about one-third of time on writing the dissertation.
  • Teaching: assist teaching in Bachelor’s Specialization Health and Social Policy with 2–3 contact hours per week.
  • Supervision: support supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses with senior faculty.

We are looking for support in the Health Economics and Policy Group.

Part-time, 30 hours/week

Starting as soon as possible, and ending after 6 years.

What to expect
  • Institute Life: You will actively contribute to the Health Economics and Policy Group, a vibrant research group within the Institute for Social Policy, by participating in regular meetings, presenting your work at internal workshops, and engaging in the academic life of the institute
  • Research: You will collaborate with members of the Health Economics and Policy Group on research projects, contributing to research design, data collection and analysis, and scientific publications.
  • Writing a dissertation: You will be investigating your research topic and spending a third of your working hours on writing your dissertation.
  • Teaching: You will support teaching in the Bachelor’s Specialization "Health and Social Policy" through co-teaching activities equivalent to approximately 2-3 contact hours per week.
  • Supervision: You will contribute to the supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in collaboration with senior faculty members, supporting approximately 2-4 theses per year.
What you have to offer
  • Academic degree: You have a diploma/master’s degree in economics, health economics, or in a relevant social science that qualifies you for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU.
  • Quantitative skills: You have a strong background in quantitative methods and are proficient in at least one leading statistical software package, such as Stata or R.
  • Research experience: You have prior experience conducting quantitative research.
  • Qualitative methods: Experience with qualitative research methods is not required but would be considered an asset.
  • Languages: You have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken. German language skills are not required but would be considered an asset.
  • Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,832.08 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
