Job summary

Plug and Play Linz seeks a Ventures Analyst/Associate to source startups for the program and investments, support deal teams, and drive market research for the Physical & Industrial AI vertical.

You will help build Linz’s venture network, collaborate with the Vienna office, and coordinate with corporate partners while shaping the office in its early days. English fluency is required, German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in engineering/technical field.
• 2+ years in a fast-paced, international environment (VC, startups, strategy consulting, or engineering).
• English fluency; German is a plus.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills; market maps and memos expected.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT).
• Proven experience producing high-quality client-facing materials.
• Exposure to manufacturing, automation, robotics, logistics or industrial software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source Pre-seed, Seed, and Series A startups for investment opportunities and introductions to our corporate partners.
• Build sector expertise by mapping market dynamics and trends to identify startups worth backing.
• Evangelize Plug and Play to startups, investors, corporates, universities, and government partners.
• Support the deal team on investment opportunities.
• Build a network of venture capitalists and investors to support sourcing and portfolio startups.
• Connect startups with industry advisors, vendors, and service providers to accelerate product development and scaling.
• Mentor startups in programs on product market fit, fundraising, and scaling.
