Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a CBRN Specialist (SME) on an hourly remote contractor basis to review AI-generated CBRN safety content and craft high-quality reference material. You will assess technical accuracy, safety framing, terminology, and risk communication while providing precise feedback to ensure responsible AI behavior.

The role requires 3+ years in CBRN safety, strong English skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
3+ years of professional experience in CBRN safety, emergency preparedness, hazardous materials, biosafety, or related work.
Strong English proficiency (C1) to provide detailed written feedback.
Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, safety, completeness, and policy alignment.
Familiarity with safety frameworks and public-safety guidance is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review CBRN-related AI content for accuracy, safety, and guideline alignment.
Identify unsafe or enabling content and flag outputs that provide dangerous details.
Develop safe reference content and gold-standard examples.
Optimize AI safety behavior through evaluation and clear feedback.
Ensure model outputs maintain proper risk framing and escalation guidance.
Support policy-aligned review using project rubrics.
