About the Role

Our client, a global leader in AI innovation, is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Remote AI Ethics and Compliance Lead. This critical role involves establishing and upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring robust compliance frameworks for all AI initiatives across the organization. Working remotely, you will be pivotal in guiding the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies, mitigating risks related to bias, fairness, transparency, and privacy. You will collaborate with diverse, geographically dispersed teams to embed ethical considerations into every stage of the AI lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve AI ethics policies, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
• Conduct comprehensive ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects.
• Collaborate with legal, engineering, product, and policy teams to ensure AI systems are compliant with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AI Act) and ethical principles.
• Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams on AI ethics, responsible AI development, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor emerging trends, regulations, and societal concerns related to AI ethics globally.
• Establish processes for ethical review and approval of AI systems, particularly those with high societal impact.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, academics, and industry groups, on matters of AI ethics and governance.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to AI ethics and compliance.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field with a specialization in technology ethics or governance.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology ethics, AI governance, legal compliance, or a related field, with a strong focus on AI.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities, and potential ethical challenges.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ethical frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance programs.
• In-depth knowledge of international privacy regulations and AI-specific legal frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Experience in public speaking or engaging with policymakers is a significant advantage.
