Job summary

Snap Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer to join the Spectacles team in Vienna, working with Product, Design and Software teams to ensure firmware and apps meet high standards.

You will run manual tests on firmware, test iOS and Android apps, report issues in Jira, develop test plans, and collaborate across teams to drive quality improvements.

Regular office presence is expected 4+ days a week, with a focus on hands-on testing and proactive defect prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2+ years of industry experience in quality assurance.
• Experience with manual testing and test planning.

As a member of the team, you'll be responsible for manual testing the next generation of Snap wearable computing devices such as SPECS. Working from our Vienna office, you'll be collaborating closely with the Specs Product, Design, and Software teams locally and around the world.What you’ll do:Support manual testing of firmware to identify regressions.Test software applications on mobile devices (iOS and Android) and report critical information to aid developer teams with triaging issues.Monitor and triage reported bugs from Jira and Crash Report Tooling.Design, develop, and maintain innovative testing approaches, ensuring all products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability before release.Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans.Collaborate closely with the QA team, Developers, Design and Program Managers to resolve issues efficiently.Run test sessions in the Vienna office with the local team.Identify areas for process and product improvement, providing recommendations and driving initiatives to enhance product quality.Regularly use the products to continuously improve test coverage and maintain stability (exploratory testing).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong debugging, tracing, and bisecting skills.Hardware testing experience (consumer products and or mobile testing).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.Team player with strong communication and customer-focused skills.Proven track record of designing and implementing test cases at the application and system level.Ability to thrive in uncertain, early prototype stages of a project.Natural curiosity for products, new technology, and innovation.Demonstrated ability to utilize current AI tools to enhance efficiency and foster innovative problem-solving.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience.2+ years of industry experience in quality assurance.Proficiency with QA tools and familiarity with common development environments.Preferred Qualifications:Experience designing, implementing, executing, and supporting stress and load testing against hardware devices, UI, and Cloud.Familiarity with agile test tools and methodologiesExperience with Release Testing.Experience testing IoT devices running Android.Passion for identifying and classifying issues to improve quality.Strong passion for creativity and solving cutting-edge industry problems.If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information .\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
