Axess, headquartered in Anif, Austria, develops access, visitor and ticketing solutions used worldwide. The QA Engineer will join a team ensuring system quality across hardware, firmware and software, and will drive AI-based test automation initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing automated test frameworks, testing end-to-end systems, and building CI/CD pipelines. The role offers remote work options by arrangement and opportunities for growth within Axess.

Formación

• Several years of experience in test automation.
• Strong knowledge of Robot Framework and Python.
• Experience testing complex hardware+software+firmware systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, pipelines and modern DevOps.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMs) and Docker is a plus.
• Strong English skills; German is optional.

Responsabilidades

As a QA Engineer, you will become part of a team that develops and operates highly complex access control and ticketing solutions. Your mission: ensure the quality of our systems – from hardware and firmware to software. You will automate tests, analyze defects, collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product management, and introduce modern testing methods, including AI-driven automation.

• Development, maintenance, and extension of automated test frameworks (with a focus on Robot Framework & Python)
• Testing complex end-to-end systems consisting of hardware, software, and firmware
• Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure, …)
• Integrating automated tests into build and deployment processes
• Analyzing defects, log files, and system behavior in distributed architectures
• Contributing to the further development of our testing strategy, including AI-based test automation
• Working with virtualization technologies (VMs, Docker containers)
• Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams (development, DevOps, product management)

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in test automation
• Very good knowledge of Robot Framework and Python
• Experience in testing complex systems (hardware + software + firmware)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Jenkins, pipelines, and modern DevOps processes
• Ideally experience with virtualization, VMs, and Docker containers
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL are an advantage)
• Experience with AI-driven test automation is a plus
• Strong communication skills, analytical, and structured approach
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken; German is optional

Due to legal requirements, we are obliged to state that the collective agreement minimum salary for this position is EUR 47.810,14 gross per year based on full-time employment.

However, we offer a highly attractive, performance-based salary that is aligned with your qualifications and professional experience. This is significantly above the collective agreement for employees in the metal industry.
