Job summary

World Data Lab in Vienna is hiring a Data Insights Associate to turn complex datasets into clear public sector insights. You will work with data science and business development colleagues to deliver dashboards, briefings and decks for high‑impact clients.

The role is full-time and hybrid, requiring strong technical skills in R, data analysis and policy context. Master’s degree candidates welcome as well as those nearing completion.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in data science or related field; candidates in final stages welcome.
• Strong foundation in data science, coding and quantitative analysis with ability to apply to real problems.
• Proficiency in R and Excel; experience with other programming languages is a plus.
• Academic or professional background in public policy/economics relating to public sector research.

Responsibilities

• Turn complex data into clear insights for public sector clients.
• Prepare analytical outputs, presentations and briefing notes.
• Support live client engagements and client calls; present results.
• Collaborate across global offices to feed insights into strategy and delivery.
