WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) invites applications for a part-time pre-doctoral researcher position at the Institute for Data, Energy, and Sustainability (IDEaS). The role runs 30 hours per week from January 1, 2027 to September 30, 2029, and supports data-driven research on energy transitions and climate action.

You will design data pipelines, apply econometric methods, co-supervise theses, and collaborate with industry, government, and academia.

Formación

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualifying you for a doctoral program at WU in a quantitative/analytical field (data science, CS, IS, stats, math, econ, engineering).
• Strong Python or R programming skills with version control and project examples.
• Experience in econometrics or statistics and data analysis.
• Motivation to work on energy transition topics and climate tech.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct research and contribute to IDEaS projects, building high-quality datasets and data pipelines.
• Pursue a PhD at WU while dedicating one third of working hours to dissertation.
• Co-supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses.
• Engage with external stakeholders from industry, government, and academia to co-develop insights.
• Support organizational duties and teaching as part of the position.
