University of Vienna invites applications for a four-year Prae Doc position in the Quantum Nanophysics Team (QNP) led by Prof. Markus Arndt.

You will work on matter-wave interferometry and quantum tools for complex biomolecules and participate in teaching duties and group administration. The successful candidate has a Master’s degree in physics, hands-on experience in at least two areas (molecular beams, UHV systems, optics, lasers, mass spectrometry or matter-wave research) and excellent

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or Diploma in physics before start or equivalent qualification enabling PhD enrollment at University of Vienna.
• Demonstrable hands-on experimental skills in at least two of: molecular beam sources, (cryogenic) ultra-high-vacuum systems, superconducting nanowire detectors, advanced optics, laser systems and frequency conversion, mass spectrometry or matter-wave research.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Aufgaben

• Work on the Q4-BIO project and contribute to the dissertation within 12–18 months.
• Conduct and present research plans to the faculty; complete a dissertation within 4 years.
• Contribute to teaching (lab courses, exercise classes) and some administrative duties.
• Stay informed about the state of the art in the field and contribute to publications and conference activities.
