Qualifikationen

• Must have completed a Master's degree or Diploma in physics to enroll as PhD student at the University of Vienna by start date.
• High experimental skills from planning to data acquisition and processing are required.
• Experience in at least two of: molecular beam sources, (cryogenic) UHV systems, nanoparticle cooling, cluster science, advanced optics, laser systems and frequency conversion, mass spectrometry or matter-wave research.
• Demonstrable experimental design, construction and troubleshooting skills in the laboratory are essential.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Aufgaben

• Involved in the V-QUTE research project, pushing mass limits of matter-wave interferometry and macroscopicity.
• Present your research plan to the faculty and complete a dissertation agreement within 12-18 months; reviewed annually.
• Work on your dissertation with a plan to complete in 4 years; maintain high independence and strong collaboration.
• Contribute to teaching (lab courses, exercise classes) within collective bargaining provisions.
• Handle administrative tasks to support group research, teaching and administration.
• Stay informed about state-of-the-art developments in the field.
• Contribute to outreach via publications, conference presentations, and public activities.
