Your Responsibilities
- independent research in materials physics, with a focus on biophotonics, the function, composition, and development of nanostructured biological materials, the development of optical measurement systems, and bio-inspired functional materials
- support of the organisational unit’s research and teaching activities
- independent teaching in accordance with the scope of employment
- PhD degree in physics, chemistry, or materials science with a focus on the optics of nanostructured systems, polymer self-assembly, structural analysis, colloid research, or a related field
Desired Qualification
- very good command of English, both written and spoken;
- experience in delivering scientific presentations and publishing research
- ability to teach at university level in German and English
- interest in interdisciplinary research
- experience with light and electron microscopy as well as other structural characterization techniques
- enthusiasm for scientific work, independence, creativity, and inventiveness
- intellectual curiosity, reliability, resilience, and flexibility
- willingness to travel to national and international conferences
