The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Senior Scientist) in Vienna. The position is designed for individuals with a disability rating of at least 50% and involves scientific and organizational co-management of the BOKU Forest-Wood Cluster.

Part-time (10 hours/week) with a permanent contract and a gross monthly salary of at least €1,253.60, payable 14 times per year. Starting date is 1 November 2026.

• Support in the further development and positioning of the Cluster.
• Scientific coordination, preparation, and alignment of Cluster content.
• Development and implementation of the Cluster's science communication strategy, including materials
• Development, management, and ongoing content development of the Cluster website and online content.
• Support in organizing events and increasing visibility of the cluster.

The Department of Ecosystem Management, Climate and Biodiversity, Department Management, is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Senior Scientist).

Responsibilities

• Scientific and organizational co-management of the BOKU Forest-Wood Cluster currently under development
• Support in the further development and positioning of the Cluster
• Scientific coordination, preparation, and alignment of Cluster content
• Development and implementation of the Cluster's science communication strategy, particularly the creation and further development of information and presentation materials (e.g. flyers, presentations, information materials)
• Development, management, and ongoing content development of the Cluster website, including the preparation and updating of scientific content for online communication
• Support in the organization and communication of events, activities, and other measures to increase the visibility of the cluster and promote internal and external networking

Required skills and qualifications

• Very good German and very good to fluent English language skills

Desired skills and qualifications

• Strong interest in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration, as well as in connecting different scientific disciplines
• Good knowledge of the teaching and research priorities at BOKU, as well as of the interdisciplinary connetions within the university's areas of expertise
• Experience in science communication and in preparing scientific content in an audience-apprpriate manner
• Experience in creating presentation, information, and communication materials
• Experience in managing and/or editing websites and digital communication channels is an advantage
• Experience with TYPO3 or willingness to complete TYPO3 training
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Independent, structured, and reliable working style
• Ability to communicate complex scientific content in a clear and audience-appropriate manner
• Initiative, team spirit, and willingness to actively contribute to the establishment and further development of a new Cluster
