The University of Vienna invites applications for a University Assistant Postdoctoral position in the 51 Faculty of Physics, starting 01.11.2026. The role combines research, teaching and administration within the Molecular Quantum Optics & Quantum Nanophysics team led by Prof. Arndt.

You will develop ideas and experiments on matter-wave interferometry with nanoparticles, publish internationally, and seek third-party funds. The team is part of VCQ and the Austrian Cluster of Excellence (quanta).

Qualifikationen

• PhD in experimental quantum physics with strong experimental skills.
• Outstanding dissertation with international publications in experimental quantum optics.

Aufgaben

• Active participation in research, teaching & administration.
• Build up an independent research profile in matter-wave interferometry with nanoparticles.
• Involve in research projects and metrology; publish internationally and give lectures.
• Apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
• Teach courses within the collective bargaining provisions.
• Co-supervise students and participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
• Take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
