You will lead experimental and theoretical work, supervise students, develop new funded projects, and contribute to publications and conferences.

The position requires a PhD in physics with focus on plasma and fusion physics, strong IT and programming skills, and excellent German and English.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in physics with focus on plasma and fusion physics.
• Excellent experimental and theoretical knowledge in high-temperature plasmas and plasma diagnostics.
• Proven publication record.
• Experience raising and managing externally funded projects.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
• Strong IT and programming skills.
• Ability to participate in teaching and grading activities in experimental physics.
• Enthusiasm for scientific work and interacting with students.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Aufgaben

• Research in the field of fusion energy with focus on physics of high temperature plasmas, plasma edge physics and plasma diagnostics
• Development of new research projects in the field of plasma physics and plasma diagnostics
• Contribute to acquisition for third-party funded projects
• Writing and editing of scientific manuscripts
• Contributions to scientific workshops and international conferences
• Possibility to work on a habilitation project
• Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations in experimental physics
• Professional and organizational supervision of students in the physics program (Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD levels)
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
