Zusammenfassung

The University of Graz is seeking a Recognised Researcher (R2) in the Department of Physics to lead research in fusion energy, high-temperature plasmas, and plasma diagnostics. You will develop new projects, supervise students, and contribute to teaching and examinations in experimental physics.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in physics with a strong publication record, German and English proficiency, and excellent IT skills.

Qualifikationen

• Completed doctoral or Ph.D. degree in physics, ideally with a focus on plasma and fusion physics
• Excellent experimental and theoretical knowledge in the areas of high-temperature plasmas and plasma diagnostics
• Proven publication record
• Experience raising and managing externally funded projects
• Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
• Very strong IT and programming skills
• Ability to participate in teaching and grading activities in the field of experimental physics
• Enthusiasm for scientific work and for interacting with students
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills

Aufgaben

• Research in the field of fusion energy with focus on physics of high temperature plasmas, plasma edge physics and plasma diagnostics
• Development of new research projects in the field of plasma physics and plasma diagnostics
• Contribute to acquisition for third-party funded projects
• Writing and editing of scientific manuscripts
• Contributions to scientific workshops and international conferences
• Possibility to work on a habilitation project
• Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations in experimental physics
• Professional and organizational supervision of students in the physics program (Bachelor´s/Master´s/PhD levels)
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
