The University of Vienna invites applications for a PhD position in the H4DES project within the Faculty of Computer Science, Visualization and Data Analysis. The research focuses on 3D-printed sensing artifacts and haptic data encoding to aid data sensemaking.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, pursue your own dissertation under supervision, and have access to courses and international collaboration. The position runs until end of 2029 with a competitive salary and flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and in a team on research.
• Experience with academic writing and publishing processes.
• Strong interest in interdisciplinary research at the fabrication-HCI interface.

Responsabilités

• Conduct independent research within the H4DES project until end of 2029.
• Join the Doctoral School of Computer Science and complete dissertation agreement within 12 months.
• Develop methods to encode data into object behaviour and evaluate multimodal perception.
• Assist with administrative and teaching tasks and group coordination.
