Vienna BioCenter IT department is seeking a dedicated Linux/OpenShift administrator to support deployment, operation, and development of applications and services on Linux and OpenShift environments. You will work closely with internal projects and service owners to ensure reliable, containerized and non-containerized workloads.

The role blends hands-on Linux administration with day-to-day service operations in a practical, project-facing environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience operating Linux applications and services.
• Experience with containers and deployment on Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Strong troubleshooting in application and service operations.
• Practical experience with web servers, databases, middleware, or scientific software.
• Service-oriented mindset, comfortable working with internal users and project teams.
• Structured, pragmatic approach to operations and support.

Aufgaben

• Operate and support workloads on OpenShift/OCP environments.
• Help project teams onboard applications onto the platform.
• Administer Linux-based applications and services, containerized or not.
• Support infrastructure services such as web servers, databases, middleware, and scientific apps.
• Troubleshoot service- and app-level issues across Linux and containers.
• Handle deployment, configuration, updates, and lifecycle management.
• Translate project requirements into workable operating setups.
• Collaborate with platform team on standards and improvements.
