You will lead R&D projects from concept to validation and transfer to manufacturing, ensuring regulatory compliance and robust documentation. A MSc/PhD with 2+ years in the field is expected.

Qualifikationen

• University degree: MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Genetics or related field.
• 2+ years of product development experience in molecular diagnostics.
• Hands-on molecular biology techniques, PCR and NGS with short- and long-read platforms.
• Experience with NGS workflows, library prep, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with IVDR regulations is a plus.

The BioVendor Molecular Diagnostic Division is looking for a talented and motivated NGS Diagnostic Product Developer. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative molecular diagnostic products and technologies that help improve healthcare outcomes worldwide. You will be joining our Molecular Diagnostics Division based in Brno and Vienna.

What you will be working on:

Working in a collaborative environment, you will participate in research and development projects from concept through validation and transfer to manufacturing, while supporting regulatory compliance and product registration activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development and life cycle management of new molecular diagnostic products.
• Assay design and experimental development of diagnostic kits for long-read and short-read sequencing as well as PCR-based technology platforms
• Data analysis and optimization of application-specific bioinformatic pipelines
• Design, optimize, and validate PCR and NGS-based methods.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and diagnostic solutions.
• Independent troubleshooting of technical problems
• Create and maintain project and development documentation
• Development and execution of analytical and clinical performance studies
• Clinical literature reviews and post-market surveillance activities
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation according to IVDR and ISO standards, and support registration activities
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Marketing, Sales, and Application Specialists to ensure successful product development and launch.
• Support technology transfer of new products into manufacturing and prepare production procedures.
• Technical support and training for other departments internally and externally with distributors, customers
• Participate in research projects and grant-funded initiatives.
• Development and execution of projects with external collaborators

What is important to us:

• University degree (MSc or PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Genetics, or a related Life Sciences field.
• Proven knowledge in the area of Medical Genetics
• Minimum 2 years of product developer experience.
• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, particularly PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) with both short-read (e.g., Illumina) and long-read (e.g., Oxford Nanopore) instruments
• Extensive experience with PCR assay design, optimisation and analysis
• Experience with NGS workflows, library preparation, and sequencing platforms. Advanced understanding of genomic databases and NGS software tools
• Knowledge of biostatistics and/or bioinformatics is an advantage.
• Excellent command of MS Office and common molecular laboratory software.
• Experience with IVDR-regulated products is an advantage.
• Project management experience is considered a plus.

The statutory minimum basic salary for this position is € 3.919,67 per month (14x per year). The remuneration corresponds to employment group 5 according to the Austrian collective agreement for trade, crafts and services, salaried employees. An overpayment is foreseen depending on relevant professional experience and/or qualifications.
