Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage medical billing and account follow-up, transmit patient care information, resolve discrepancies, adjust bills, and prepare reports. Proficient in UB04 and HCFA 1500 billing; excellent daily verbal and written communication is required.

Requires at least two years in medical office billing, knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare billing/reimbursement, and strong analytical problem-solving ability while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical office billing experience.
• High school diploma required.
• Billing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying, providing information, and following up on claims.
• Resolves discrepancies by examining data and selecting corrective steps.
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures and reporting compliance issues.
• Maintains quality results by following company standards.
• Updates job knowledge by educational opportunities and staying current on Medicaid/Medicare billing/reimbursement procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
