Job summary

Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time, temporary Graduate Teaching Assistant (Diploma/Master) or University Assistant (Doctorate/PhD) in the Institute of Structural Lightweight Design. Entry date 12/01/2026; reference 135000-2026-002150.

Responsibilities include teaching, research in SHM for lightweight structures, and project administration. The position offers a competitive salary under the collective agreement (€3,776.10–€5,014.30 monthly) and attractive campus

Qualifications

• Master or doctoral degree in the field of mechatronics or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of strength of materials and structures, stability theory, finite element methods, CAD, structural design and lightweight design, composite materials, Measurement and Sensor Technology.
• Very good command of German and English (spoken and written, level B2) with proof of proficiency included in the application.

Responsibilities

• Research in the field of integration of mechatronic structural health monitoring systems for lightweight structures and development of measurement systems and sensors.
• Support with acquisition and administration of third-party funded projects.
• Academic teaching, including co-supervision of master’s and bachelor’s theses.
