Job summary

Johannes Kepler University Linz is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant or University Assistant for the Institute of Structural Lightweight Design. The role is full-time and temporary, with 40 hours per week.

The position involves research on mechatronic SHM systems, teaching, and supervising theses, plus funding administration. Applicants should hold a Master or Doctoral degree in mechatronics or mechanical engineering and have strong knowledge in FEM, CAD, lightweight design, and sensors,

Qualifications

• Master or doctoral degree in mechatronics or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of strength of materials, stability theory, finite element methods, CAD, lightweight design, composite materials, and measurement and sensor technology.
• Very good command of German and English (spoken and written, level B2) with proof of proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Research in the field of integration of mechatronic structural health monitoring systems for lightweight structures and development of measurement systems and sensors.
• Support with acquisition and administration of third-party funded projects.
• Academic teaching, including co-supervision of master’s and bachelor’s theses.
