Zusammenfassung

CERN seeks a hands‑on Mechanical Technician to contribute to superconducting radiofrequency cavity improvements and thin‑film coating technologies. You will design, fabricate, assemble and commission mechanical and coating equipment, using 3D CAD and precise machining skills, in a fully onsite role.

You will participate in coating activities, document procedures and support system testing, with opportunities to work with UHV systems and vacuum technologies as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in conventional and CNC milling/turning.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience or interest in UHV coating systems is valuable.
• Basic knowledge of vacuum thin‑film coating techniques is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design mechanical components and coating equipment using 3D CAD and produce drawings.
• Assemble, install, test, commission and operate PVD coating systems.
• Machining of metallic and ceramic components with conventional and CNC methods.
• Record operating parameters and document coating processes.
