A well-qualified Master’s student in Technical Mathematics is invited to join the Center for Transport Technologies at Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna for a 6-month master’s thesis. You will analyze driving dynamics, develop features, and test simulations using IPG Motorcycle Maker under expert supervision.

The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, data-driven model building, and international cooperation.

Qualifikationen

• Ongoing master's studies in Technical Mathematics at TU Vienna.
• Good knowledge in R, Python, or MATLAB; willingness to adopt multiple languages as needed.
• Excellent analytical and teamwork capabilities; interest in industry applications.
• Very good English or German skills (spoken and written); thesis can be in either language.

Aufgaben

• Investigate extensive time series of driving dynamics from motorcycle rides on specified tracks.
• Identify features that differentiate riders based on driving dynamics.
• Explore simulation software (IPG Motorcycle Maker) to set up motorcycle movement simulations.
• Implement model-building approaches to extract features from motorcyclist data.
• Assess feasibility of simulating driver movements from extracted features.
• Compare different model-building approaches to select the most appropriate one.
