Zusammenfassung

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna invites applications for a master’s thesis in the Center for Transport Technologies. Join our Competence Unit Transportation Infrastructure Technologies to work on time-series analysis, feature extraction, and simulation-driven research for safer, more efficient road transport.

The project runs for 6 months with a 20-hour-per-week schedule, compensated at 1,273 EUR gross per month according to the collective agreement.

Qualifikationen

  • Ongoing master's studies in Technical Mathematics at TU Vienna.
  • Good knowledge in R, Python, or MATLAB; willingness to adopt multiple languages as needed.
  • Enjoyment of application-oriented questions of industry.
  • Very good English or German skills (spoken and written). The thesis can be completed in either language.

Aufgaben

  • Investigate extensive time series of driving dynamics from multiple motorcycle rides on given tracks.
  • Identify characteristic features that differentiate riders using data analysis.
  • Explore simulation software to set up motorcycle movement simulations.
  • Develop model-building approaches to extract features from motorcyclist data under researcher guidance.
  • Assess feasibility of simulating driver movements based on extracted features.
