Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Gratkorn, Austria, is seeking a senior leader to head the RF validation team focusing on Smartcards, UHF tags and NFC Wireless Charging. You will drive cross‑functional collaboration with global development teams and define validation strategies.

The role demands a Master in EE or related, 6–8 years in RF development, and proven ability to mentor engineers. Strong English communication and hands-on automation with Python/MATLAB are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Information Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in RF system development, validation, characterization, or related fields
• Recognized RF expertise including modulation techniques, coding, transmitter/receiver architecture, and analog/mixed-signal concepts
• Proven track record leading complex technical projects across teams and locations
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership without direct people management
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across international teams
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, data analysis frameworks and AI tools an advantage
• Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, Spice, or equivalents
• Self-driven, organized, and able to solve complex problems with broad impact
• Excellent written and verbal English skills

Responsibilities

• Leading the RF validation team with focus on Smartcards, UHF tags and NFC Wireless charging across global cross-functional teams
• Provide technical leadership for complex RF validation challenges and root-cause analysis
• Serve as RF validation expert and escalation point for complex issues influencing decisions
• Drive continuous improvement of RF validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and tools
• Improve efficiency using AI methodologies
• Mentor RF engineers through technical reviews, validation planning, and development
• Optimize RF performance of contactless products with respect to ISO/IEC standards (14443, 15693, 18000-63) and NFC/EMVCo
• Represent RF validation in project reviews, architecture discussions, customer engagements
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to share knowledge and align RF validation processes
