Job summary

Biosynth's Vienna team is seeking a Technician to support the development and production team in Vienna. You will contribute to enzyme development and a range of lab activities, from fermentation and molecular analyses to protein purification, applying your scientific knowledge and learning new techniques.

This role is intended for candidates with 1+ years of relevant industry experience after completing a university degree, rather than recent graduates.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant industry experience in a similar role.
• Master's degree or relevant scientific qualification (biology, chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or related training).
• Experience in molecular biology methods, fermentation or protein purification is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of German (spoken and written) and very good English (spoken and written); MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Participation in the development of new enzymes.
• Fermentation of microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast.
• Molecular biological analyses and co-development of enzymatic assays, from sample preparation to analysis.
• Protein purification by chromatography.
• Participation in all laboratory operations.
• Precise documentation of the experiments carried out.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant industry experience in a similar role following completion of a university degree is required.
• Master's degree or relevant qualification (e.g. university, technical college or HTL degree in biology, chemistry, molecular biology or biotechnology, or similar relevant training with a scientific background).
• Experience in the field of molecular biological methods, fermentation or protein purification would be an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of German (spoken and written), very good knowledge of English (spoken and written) and computer skills (MS Office).
• Independent and accurate way of working, communication and team skills.
• High level of initiative and flexibility.
