Zusammenfassung

Lonza Basel/Stuttgart-based drug product QC group is seeking a Laboratory Scientist in phys-chemical QC. You will execute routine testing (U/HPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, pH, etc.) for biologics and small molecules under cGMP.

You will support method validation, equipment calibration, troubleshooting and 6s compliance, while ensuring timely, accurate data. The role requires on-site work in Basel/Switzerland, with strong emphasis on documentation, ALCOA++ principles and collaboration with cross-functional

• Training on the job as a lab technician (EFZ, HF, CTA, BTA, PTA or BSc./MSc).
• Working experience in pharma/biotech/chemical industry, analytical testing.
• Experience in a cGMP regulated environment with ALCOA++ GDocP principles.

Aufgaben

• Execute routine physico-chemical testing (U/HPLC, SEC, IEX, RP, surfactant) for biologics and small molecules in QC under cGMP.
• Perform equipment preparation, calibration and troubleshooting and review tasks as assigned.
• Support instrument maintenance, validation transfers and method development as required.
• Contribute to 6s standards and inventory/consumables management for audit readiness.
• Lead maintenance/requalification of laboratory equipment as Instrument Responsible Person.

What you will do:

• Independently execute routine physico-chemical testing such as U/HPLC (SEC, IEX, RP, surfactant), CE-SDS, icIEF, protein content, and compendial methods (pH, color, clarity, subvisible particles, etc.) for biologics/large molecules, related entities and small molecules in QC under cGMP following applicable SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDocP) in a right-first-time and timely manner
• Executes/reviews/approves basic laboratory operational tasks, e.g. mobile phase preparation or calibration/troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
• Assist in investigation/troubleshooting of laboratory equipment issues by provision of technical knowledge on the equipment to the Business Process Owner
• Support maintaining the 6s standard within the laboratory by actively following and keeping up 6s processes for chemical inventory & consumables management, thereby ensuring audit/inspection readiness as well as supporting them.
• Leads organization and on time conduction of maintenance/requalification of assigned laboratory equipment, supported by external vendors, as Instrument Responsible Person (Cat A and B). Act as trainer for assigned equipment in combination of respective analytical methods
• Support analytical method validation or transfers as required
• Proactively contribute to laboratory operational optimization and process improvement initiatives
• Contributes to Pikett Service for Drug Product analytical infrastructure

What we are looking for:

• Training on the job as a lab technician (EFZ, HF, CTA, BTA, PTA or BSc./MSc.)
• Working experience in a research/ technical role in the pharmaceutical, biotech or chemical industry, in analytical testing
• Proven working experience in a cGMP regulated environment in phys-chem analytics strongly desired with experience in accurately reporting, interpretation and documentation of scientific results following ALCOA++ GDocP principles
• Experience with laboratory specific software (e.g. Empower, Electronic Laboratory Journal, LIMS-system) is advantageous
• Good communication and ability to work independently in a team, proactive and dedicated attitude
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English. Any other languages are a plus
