Zusammenfassung

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna seeks a Junior Scientist to advance numerical signal processing for mobile 5G/6G ISAC scenarios. You will validate algorithms with simulations and an SDR testbed, and participate in real-time experiments using RIS and SDR hardware.

As part of the Center for Digital Safety and Security, you will publish results in international journals and present at conferences, collaborating within a growing European research network.

Qualifikationen

• Completed MSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• First experience in at least one of the listed profiles (i)–(iv) and describe alignment in cover letter.
• Hands-on RF lab experimentation and PCB design experience.
• Strong knowledge in signal processing, RF propagation modeling, AI/ML and numerical simulations (MATLAB or Python).
• Knowledge of EM field simulation tools, antenna design, and real-time FPGA programming.
• Interest in scientific publications and solving industry questions.
• High teamwork and language skills in English and German.

Aufgaben

• Develop numerical signal processing algorithms for 5G/6G ISAC scenarios and validate via simulations and SDR measurements.
• Conduct algorithm research and design real-time experiments using SDR hardware and RIS.
• Establish a 6G distributed MIMO sensing testbed using SDR with open-source tools (GNU Radio, RFNoC, LabVIEW).
• Learn to evaluate results and prepare them for further studies.
• Publish research results in international journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with international scientists within European projects.
