Job summary

ALDI International in Austria is seeking an Import & Customs Operations Expert to advise on customs-related matters for imports and manage the end-to-end import clearance process.

You will prepare applications, maintain authorisations, review orders for legality, and support interactions with customs authorities and inspections. A strong background in import customs and ERP/logistics systems is required.

Qualifications

• Completed a commercial apprenticeship or comparable degree relevant to customs, foreign trade, logistics or law.
• Several years of experience handling import customs clearance and related processes.
• In-depth knowledge of customs tariff classification, origin calculations, customs value assessment and customs law.
• Experience applying for and managing import customs authorisations from start to finish.
• Confident internal advice, ability to make recommendations and act as a specialist contact.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on customs-related issues for imports and act as the main contact for customs matters.
• Handle operational import customs tasks and ensure timely, accurate clearance.
• Prepare applications and maintain customs authorisations for imports and communicate with authorities.
• Review internal customs clearance orders for legal validity and completeness.
• Support responses to inquiries from customs authorities and assist with inspections and audits.
