Mane Energy in Vienna is seeking an experienced ICT Project Supervisor to oversee onsite structured cabling installations in a data centre. You will supervise installation teams and subcontractors, ensuring work aligns with drawings and schedules while coordinating with BIM and commissioning teams.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate structured cabling activities with electrical, mechanical and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and identify delays or constraints.
• Liaise with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, issues and design conflicts.
• Attend daily briefings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
• Support health and safety requirements, RAMS and procedures.
• Carry out regular quality inspections and close-out of defects and punch-list items.
• Liaise with commissioning team to ensure testing and certification is completed and submitted on schedule.
• Coordinate with BIM team to ensure accurate as-built information.
• Monitor materials and manage Bill of Materials on site.
• Prepare regular progress reports for the project planning team.
• Assist with compilation of project O&M documentation.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced ICT Project Supervisor to join a major data centre project in Vienna, Austria.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the onsite supervision and delivery of structured cabling installations, overseeing specialist installation teams and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

The role is focused specifically on the physical installation of copper and fibre structured cabling infrastructure within a data centre environment.

Please note: this is a structured cabling installation and supervision position and is not a network engineering or network hardware role.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise onsite structured cabling installation teams and subcontractors.
• Act as the primary onsite contact for structured cabling and telecommunications installation queries.
• Oversee the installation of copper and fibre structured cabling systems.
• Supervise fibre splicing, patching and testing activities.
• Oversee copper termination and testing.
• Supervise the installation of telecoms and network racks and fibre management systems.
• Ensure installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, cable schedules, specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate structured cabling activities with electrical, mechanical and other construction disciplines.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and identify potential delays or constraints.
• Liaise regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, technical issues and design conflicts.
• Attend daily briefings, toolbox talks, coordination meetings and other project meetings.
• Support the implementation of project health and safety requirements, including RAMS and project-specific procedures.
• Carry out regular quality inspections and coordinate the identification and close-out of defects and punch-list items.
• Liaise with the commissioning team to ensure all structured cabling testing and certification is completed and submitted on schedule.
• Coordinate with the BIM team to ensure accurate as-built information is produced and maintained.
• Monitor project materials and ensure efficient onsite management of the Bill of Materials.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar ICT, Telecoms or Structured Cabling supervisory position.
• Strong practical and technical knowledge of copper and fibre structured cabling systems.
• Proven experience supervising structured cabling installation teams and subcontractors.
• Experience with fibre splicing, patching and testing.
• Experience with copper termination and testing.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, cable schedules and project specifications.
• Previous experience working within a construction, data centre or mission-critical environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.

Desirable Experience

• Previous data centre experience.
• Recognised telecoms or structured cabling industry qualifications.
• Vendor certifications including Panduit, Corning, AFL, CommScope or similar.
• Experience working on large-scale international construction projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and installation teams.

Candidate Profile

This position would suit an experienced Structured Cabling Supervisor, Telecoms Supervisor, ICT Supervisor or Data Centre Cabling Supervisor who has progressed from an installation background into a supervisory role.

Candidates should have strong hands-on knowledge of fibre and copper structured cabling installation, termination, testing and quality control, together with the ability to lead onsite teams and coordinate delivery within a live construction environment.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in network engineering, network configuration or IT hardware, without significant structured cabling installation experience, will not be suitable for this position.
