Job summary

Novartis is seeking a Quality Control Specialist II based in Schaftenau, Austria, with hybrid work options. The role focuses on implementing and validating virological and molecular analytical methods for biological products, including cell banks and intermediates.

The candidate should have strong mammalian cell culture skills, experience with virus-based analytics, and knowledge of nucleic acid amplification techniques and other molecular workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of mammalian cell culture and cell-based analytical techniques.
• Experience with virus-based analytical methods and safe handling of biological materials.
• Knowledge of molecular biology methods such as nucleic acid amplification and related workflows.
• Experience in GMP-regulated laboratory environments and analytical method lifecycle activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and support development, optimization, validation/transfer for cell-based and molecular analyses, focusing on in vitro virus assays and real-time PCR/NGS.
• Prepare, review, and maintain analytical procedures, protocols, and reports in English.
• Assess method performance, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate laboratory activities and collaboration across QC analysts and external partners.
• Support deviations, CAPAs, change controls, data review, and inspection readiness.
