Job summary

Philips is seeking a Head of Software QA to lead and evolve quality across speech recognition and voice productivity products. You will define the QA strategy for mobile, desktop, web, and hardware integrations while maintaining high release confidence and speed.

You will own cross-team quality programs, set automation direction, and mentor QA engineers. Fluency in English is required; German is advantageous. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in QA Engineering, including leading QA teams.
• Strong understanding of testing complex, multi‑platform SaaS products; automation architecture and CI/CD integration.
• Proven collaboration with engineering and product leadership to challenge scope and timelines when quality risk warrants it.
• Effective leadership: developing QA engineers, providing direct feedback, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the QA strategy across the full product ecosystem (mobile, desktop, web) and hardware integrations.
• Lead cross-team quality programs including release readiness and go/no-go decisions with a clear risk picture.
• Define test approaches for complex cross-component work and coordinate across teams to completion.
• Identify systemic quality signals and drive root-cause fixes rather than repeated re-testing.
• Set automation strategy and guide tooling decisions; fix bottlenecks in CI pipelines and test environments.
• Build quality standards and gates that engineering teams can follow consistently.
• Lead, hire, and develop the QA team with mentoring and clear ownership across levels.
• Partner with CTO, Head of Product, and Head of Software Development to align on quality risk and investments.
