Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften seeks an experienced Head of Molecular Robotics Genomics to establish and lead a new unit while providing leadership for core facilities and technology platforms at the institutional level.

You will build capabilities, lead scientists and staff, and drive advanced workflows and collaborations across multiple technology platforms within Vienna BioCenter.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or related life sciences.
• ≥5 years developing molecular biology tech, screening platforms, or research infra.
• Experience with robotics and automated workflows in labs.
• Proven leadership of scientific or technical teams.
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary projects and collaborations.
• Familiarity with national/European research funding is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Build and establish the new Molecular Robotics Genomics unit.
• Provide scientific and technical leadership for molecular biology activities.
• Lead a team of scientists and technical staff.
• Develop and implement high-throughput workflows with automation.
• Drive development of screening approaches and automated pipelines.
• Initiate collaborations with research groups.
• Ensure high-quality service delivery and optimize workflows.
• Lead across multiple technology platforms and foster collaboration among facility leaders.
• Represent facilities to management and contribute to planning.
• Scout and implement emerging technologies and lab processes.
• Identify funding opportunities and coordinate multi-platform initiatives.
• Strengthen alignment with Vienna BioCenter Facilities and stakeholders.
