Samsung SDI Battery Systems GmbH in Austria is seeking a Head of Manufacturing Engineering to own the manufacturing engineering function from process development through to qualified series equipment. You will lead a global team, drive automation and Smart Production, and coordinate with HQ in Korea and international production sites.

Role requires a technical leadership background, deep expertise in manufacturing processes, and strong English skills with German as a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Several years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, production technology, or industrialization/NPI.
• Experience in developing and implementing production processes and equipment, ideally in automotive, battery, or e-mobility.
• Experience leading engineering teams across programs/sites; strong interface between product development and production.
• Ability to operate in a global, matrixed organization; collaboration with Korean HQ is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical and functional leadership to the manufacturing engineering team and drive strategic development across technologies, programs and sites.
• Serve as the key link between product development and series production, defining manufacturing requirements for pack development.
• Collaborate early with design to embed Design for Manufacturing into pack architecture and component design.
• Drive innovation in joining and assembly processes and transfer know-how into new product generations.
• Own end-to-end path from process development to production equipment, including automation and Smart Production.
• Coordinate equipment strategy with headquarters in Korea and align with global production sites.
• Build and steer a global engineering network as the central interface for multiple functions.
