Referment is partnering with a rapidly growing European technology company to appoint a Head of Finance who will build and lead the finance function across multiple entities.

The role is hands-on and strategic, covering accounting, controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury, with direct collaboration with founders and leadership to drive international expansion.

Qualifikationen

• Fluent German and strong English.

Aufgaben

• Ownership of finance across multiple international entities.
• Managing accounting processes and progressively bringing greater financial capability in-house.
• Owning month-end, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Developing management reporting across revenue, costs and profitability.
• Managing VAT, sales tax and other relevant international tax requirements.
• Supporting transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements.
• Owning cash flow planning, forecasting and treasury.
• Managing cash reserves, banking relationships, intercompany transfers and foreign exchange.
• Introducing appropriate financial systems and infrastructure as the company scales.
• Automating manual finance processes wherever possible.
• Using AI and workflow automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
• Building and developing the finance team.
• Working directly with the founders and wider leadership team on financial and commercial priorities.

The Role

Referment is working with a rapidly growing European technology company to hire a Head of Finance to build and lead its finance function through the next stage of international growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility across accounting, controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury across multiple international entities.

The company has grown significantly over a short period and is now looking to bring greater ownership of its finance operations in-house, introduce more sophisticated systems and build a finance team capable of supporting its continued expansion.

You’ll work directly with the founders and leadership team and will have significant autonomy over how the finance function is built.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Taking ownership of finance across multiple international entities.
• Managing accounting processes and progressively bringing greater financial capability in-house.
• Owning month-end, quarterly and annual closing processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has previously helped build the finance function of a fast-growing international business.

You’ll Ideally Have

• Experience within a high-growth technology, SaaS or similarly fast-moving company.
• Experience working across multiple international entities and jurisdictions.
• Strong hands-on accounting experience, including personally managing accounting preparation and closing processes.
• Experience across controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury.
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.
• Experience improving finance systems and processes as a company scales.
• A strong understanding of automation and how technology can be used within modern finance teams.
• The ability to operate at both a detailed and strategic level.
• Experience building or managing a finance team.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of personal ownership.
• Fluent German and strong English

Experience within a VC-backed B2B software or technology company would be particularly relevant.

We’re also particularly interested in people who are already using AI, automation and modern workflow tools within finance rather than relying heavily on manual processes.

This could suit an existing Head of Finance, Finance Director, VP Finance or senior Finance Manager looking to take full ownership of the finance function within a rapidly scaling international business.
